Our New Year's Eve was, well, uneventful. Well, we had an event, but it wasn't very ful. Whatever that means.
However, thanks to my friend Mary's well-timed birthday, Stuart, Kate and I went to a lovely open house on New Year's Day that was fun, social, and during which Kate made some new friends. Or renewed some friends, I guess. She spent time playing with George and Charlotte, and when we left, she told me that she couldn't wait for them to come have a playdate at HER house. So, now the pressures on to entertain these city folk in the 'burbs one day soon.
Afterwards, I got a text from the birthday girl saying how much her son George enjoyed playing with Kate. And again today, I got this message:
"Jaime,
George just told me that "Kate's a very nice girl. I miss her" then he said, I think we should send her a thank you note (we've been working on that monumental task this morning :). I offered to send you an email and this is what he asked me to write..."Kate, may we please go visit you sometime?...that's it" we'd be equally pleased for her to come visit us again sometime soon :)...Charlotte is here playing today and she and George are missing Kate."
It's so nice to hear that your kids are liked, isn't it? I mean, I like them, but it's nice that someone else does too.
