We've had a good weekend visiting my parents in Hutchinson. Sam has really had some funny and sweet moments this weekend, and I wanted to write a few down before I forget them.
Yesterday, he was in my parents' car looking at all of the tree limbs gathered at the side of the road from recent storms. "Wow,", he said, "You sure have had lots of damage here."
When I put him down for his nap today, he said, "Mom, did you and dad decide to let us stay one more night because I asked so nicely?"
"Not really," I said, "But it didn't hurt.
I also told him how blessed we were to have such a great family and he was to have so many people who love him. He said, "And a mom that is so special." Stu said he must want something.
Both Kate and Sam have had a good time, although we're all a little sick. Just kind of a head cold/cough thing-- what's new? Kate has been talking more-- she says Mamaw and Papaw pretty clearly now. They each have special rooms and special things they like to do with mamaw and papaw. Sam likes to play trains incessantly-- I never thought I"d see my dad get tired of playing trains. Kate likes to play the piano and eat and dance to the music from their Hallmark snowmen. It's been a nice visit.
